FAQ

– RSY (Registered School of Yoga) is ideal for independent yoga schools that wish to maintain full freedom over their own curriculum, teaching methodology, and certification system while receiving official recognition from World Yoga Alliance. Graduates of a Registered Yoga School receive certificates issued by the school itself with WYA Logo. However, they do not automatically receive WYA teacher recognition unless they separately apply for Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT/RTY) status and pay the applicable licensing fee.

– CYS (Certified Yoga School) is designed for schools that wish to work more closely with World Yoga Alliance by offering official WYA Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) credentials to eligible graduates.

– RSY + CYS (Unified School License) combines the benefits of both pathways. Schools retain full independence while also gaining access to WYA educational resources and certification privileges. (Only Lifetime Credential)

Yes. Under our updated model, all new RSY + CYS members receive access to WYA educational resources, including curriculum frameworks, training manuals, lesson plans, student handbooks, examinations, and teaching support materials.

Yes, absolutely. Schools may use WYA materials as supplemental resources while continuing to teach their own proprietary curriculum.

Yes. Schools are fully permitted to blend their own curriculum with WYA resources, provided all WYA quality and training standards are maintained. This allows schools to preserve their unique lineage, philosophy, and teaching style while benefiting from WYA’s global educational framework.

All new schools applying for Lifetime Membership receive our RSY + CYS Unified School License, which includes both WYA recognition and access to premium certification resources. Annual RYS membership includes recognition only.
